Isn’t it amazing? All hand-carved: apart from the scary tourist shelf in the video, everything else is pretty much fat Buddha, slim serene Buddha, Jesus, Gandhi, Krishna and someone I recognise but can’t place. The man working there was kind enough to talk a little bit about them. When I remarked that it must be comforting to have these gurus gazing on him all the time, he looked very serious and said “oh yes, absolutely”.
